Digital TV for all by the mid-2009
According to the latest releases the Senate has approved a "hard date" of ending analog TV transmission by April 7, 2009.
The bill is also set to provide Americans with up to $3Billion dollars for the conversion boxes (to transition from Analog to Digital). Along the same lines the FCC has set the date of March 1, 2007 as the date when all "small" TV's sold in the US must have their tunes set to digital mode. (Medium TV's must meet this requirement by March 2006.).
