KUDOS TO NETWORK MAGIC!
Over here at Network Magic, we're not really ones to "toot our own horn." Actually, we tend to be a bit hard on ourselves and we don't always give ourselves credit where it's due. But, this time, we can't be more excited to share the good news - Network Magic has been deemed an Editors' Choice by LAPTOP Magazine! The review alone was pretty rewarding for us, but the added bonus of being an "Editors' Choice" made the whole thing that much sweeter. Among the many things they said about us, one great statement in particular was, "Network Magic makes wireless networking a breeze, instead of a complex chore." Please visit the full article "Laptop Magazine: Wireless Wand" to see what else they say about us!

Network Magic did what Windows should do (in my opinion). I had 2 of 3 computers configured even before I received the "welcome" email from the free version download. I'm suggesting to NetGear that they include, or at least recommend, Network Magic with their routers. I sought assistance through their tech support, checked the additional links that they suggested, all to no avail. Network Magic solved my problem in mere minutes. Thanks folks!

Hey Guys!
I work as a freelance IT consultant when I'm not working as Chief Gaming Officer at Gamehelper.com so I'm always on the lookout for new tools to make my job easier.
Many of my clients are very small 2-5 employee offices without a central server - and many are NOT ready for that investment. Consequently we have them set-up in Workgroups in XP but needless to say - that can be a nightmare in managing on occasion. Without that central server managing security and authentication it's difficult.
Even with that in place the added elements of NetworkMagic such as monitoring, intrusion detection etc - makes this one package I'll definitely be suggesting to my clients.
Enjoying the demo myself now - need to do more digging but I like what I see so far!
If you guys wanna link us up in your BlogRoll as a gaming resource for your tech savvy readers that would be hot! We'll be relaunching with an entirely new look/feel and feature-set by year's end.
Cheers!

I saw Network Magic featured in PC Magazine and I thought it might solve the problems I've been having with my home network. It sure did -- and it made the network more secure too.
I have a request. I'd love to be able to share my folders differently (give different permissions) to the other users and computers on my network. My daughter's PC should have more restricted access to my machine and my wife's than we have to hers.
But that's just a suggestion for the future. Network Magic is great!

I saw a review for Network Magic in the latest issue of Computer Shopper and thought I would give it a go.
Setting up Network Magic to work with my laptop, desktop and father's laptop was a breeze! Sharing files and printers is just so much easier than it was before. The Network Map, Shared Folders and Printer Manager screens are intuitive. Locking down the wireless connection was also easy.
The Only complaint that I have is the add-ons don't seem to work well with the application. I have speed metor installed and I always see the "Network Magic is not currently installed on this computer" message...
If you are not already using Network Magic, don't know the first thing about setting one up or just want an easy interface for sharing your files, folder or printers, I would reccommend you give Network Magic a try.

I think you've got a winner with the Network Magic service you provide. It's a "keeper" so far for me, and is worth the subscription fee. I'm sure you'll be adding many more useful features in the coming months.

I was referred to this blog for possibly getting help with a problem I have:
I have some basic knowledge of how to determine if a device is a
printer/switch/router. So if a device is not one of those I was hoping
that I could possibly make a more accurate guess that it is a computer,
and not something else.
any suggestions? are there certain ports that I could look for
perhaps?
NetworkMagic has network mapping...and it can determine if a node is a computer, how does it make that assumption?
I was told it uses ARP, DHCP, fingerprinting, uPnP, etc.
Thanks!
